Otters

Otters can be found throughout all water courses in both rural and urban locations. Interestingly, otters are able to give birth to cubs at any time of the year.

Otters are fully protected under the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2010 (as amended) and the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended), thus making it an offence to kill, capture, injure and disturb, and any places they use for shelter or protections (such as their holts or dens).

We are able to undertake otter surveys at any time of the year, but are preferable when rainfall is low so that anecdotal evidence is located (such as droppings and/or feeding remains). We use the methodologies that are accepted by Natural England and can undertake appropriate habitat management and creation if required.

We are licensed to carry out otter surveys in Staffordshire and anywhere else in the UK and our prices for otter surveys start at £350.
