Japanese Knotweed

Japanese knotweed is listed in Schedule 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. It is an offence to plant Japanese knotweed or cause it to grow in the wild. Japanese knotweed causes problems because it spreads so quickly and it is very difficult to get rid of.
