Preliminary Ecological Appraisal

The aim of a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (P.E.A.) is to outline the present vegetation and subsequent habitats on site following under guidelines set out by the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC). The site is then analysed as to its potential to support protected species. Our vegetation surveys come at highly competitive prices and are completed to a high standard.

Our vegetation surveys come at highly competitive prices and are completed to a high standard. They are the most common method to assess and map large areas of habitats. These are used for many developments to assess the potential impacts to habitats and species that could be using the site.

Our vegetation surveys include:

  • Phase 1 and Extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys

  • Preliminary Ecological Appraisals

  • Hedgerow Surveys

  • River corridor and habitat surveys

  • Lake surveys

Should any features be identified to contain the potential to support protected species by our experienced surveyors, then the appropriate protected species presence/absence surveys will be necessary to outline the impact of the proposed works on the land.
